Who Do We Support?
Our Business Risk Management team provides first line risk management support for the Global Markets and Global Credit Finance Business Units as well as the Corporate Finance, Global Human Resources, Legal and Enterprise Risk Management Corporate Functions

Legal Entity aligned Risk Advisors within BRM teams are embedded within the first line of defense to both drive a strong culture of risk excellence and ensure business line controls mitigating risk for the Legal Entity are designed and operating effectively. The SSBI Global Markets Business Risk Advisor, Vice President will execute the following responsibilities in support of the Global Markets products and business unit leadership within SSBI ensuring consistency with the global CFMF BRM team wherever possible.

Tasks

  • Ensure Global Markets functions operating out of SSBI have ongoing adherence to Issues & Incidents policy requirements through education and hands on support
  • Coordinate consistent execution of first and second line central program policy requirements for SSBI Global Markets
  • Drive improvements to control design and documentation for SSBI Global Market Functions, working in alignment with the global CFMF BRM team
  • Ensure Corporate Policy changes and new requirements are implemented in the SSBI Global Markets Functions
  • Maintain a complete view of all Assurance events, Audit and Exams scheduled for SSBI Global Markets and assist the Global Markets functions with preparation, guidance and support
  • Support SSBI Global Markets with the self-identification of issues through proactive engagement
  • Ensure risk management and internal controls are assessed and adapted appropriately within Global Markets through SSBI transformation and change management initiatives
  • Cultivate and maintain productive relationships with global and SSBI first, second and third line stakeholders

Profile / Your qualification / Your personality

  • Risk Excellence mindset
  • Understanding of the unique regulatory requirements and expectations for SSBI within the State Street organization
  • Demonstrated success in strengthening Internal control environment and risk mitigation
  • Organizational collaboration & communication with ability to facilitate and resolve conflicts, ability to make informed, risk optimized decisions under time pressure.
  • Attention to detail and a propensity to drive issues toward resolution
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • 12+ years of experience in risk, compliance and/or audit functions within the financial industry
  • Knowledge and understanding of regulatory, operational, market, and technology risks in financial services
  • Strong interpersonal skills, proven ability to work independently and within a team
  • Excellent communication, writing, data management, organizational, project management and co-ordination skill
  • Strong critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making skills
  • Must be organized, detail oriented, responsive and be able to adapt quickly to a rapidly changing environment
