The Impact
As a Rating Analyst, you will support primary analysts in assessing and reviewing financial institutions within German-speaking, Northern European, and Central and Eastern European markets. Your work ensures high-quality analytic output and client service excellence, contributing to the integrity and accuracy of our ratings.

Tasks
- Analytical Excellence: Support primary analysts with a portfolio of financial institutions across various European markets.
- Surveillance: Actively participate in review meetings and contribute to sector portfolio reviews.
- Committees: Assist in timely portfolio reviews in line with surveillance standards.
- Publications: Update and publish high-quality rating reports and co-author thought-leading research.
- Customer Service: Provide client service excellence and coordinate with group analysts for reviews.
- Organisational Efficiency: Support analysts in efficient surveillance; on-the-job training is fundamental.
- Innovation: Integrate dynamic parameters of bank analysis into research; promote process improvements.
- Critical Mind: Incorporate AI tool results while maintaining analytical excellence.
- Ratings: Ensure high-level analytic quality for a complex portfolio of credits.
- People: Promote a positive team atmosphere and client service excellence.
- Issuers: Serve as a key contact in day-to-day analytical relationships.
Profile / Your qualification / Your personality
- Strong written and oral communication skills in German and English.
- Degree in a relevant business-related field or equivalent qualifications (e.g., CFA/FRM, Bankfachwirt / Bankbetriebswirt).
- A S&P employee at this level typically has 2-3 years of expertise in financial institutions analysis.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and execution mindset.
- Proficient in Excel/Word/PowerPoint and database applications.
- Fluency in other European languages.
- Experience facilitating and leading virtual meetings with senior issuer/industry experts.
- Willingness to travel at short notice.
- Ability to incorporate climate change, tech disruption, and global banking market trends into analysis.
All employees are required to work from the office a minimum of 2 days per week.
