About The Department
Private credit is a strategically important and growing part of abrdn. The team manages approximately £10bn of AUM across a range of strategies including private corporate debt, infrastructure debt, commercial real estate lending and fund finance.
Our success is derived from delivering flexible solutions for our clients and quality underwriting, underpinned by the talent and experience of c.20 dedicated investment professionals and connectivity across public and private credit and the firm.
We have a robust and repeatable investment process which enables us to source superior risk-adjusted returns across ratings and markets, and ESG is embedded in our approach.
Tasks
About the role
Reporting to the Global Head of Commercial and Strategy, Fixed Income, and working closely with the Head of Private Credit and the investment teams, the role holder will act as a key link between the investment teams and the client group and product teams to drive the growth of private credit. With the asset class and abrdn evolving, it will be a challenging and interesting role, with high profile.
The role will:
- Prepare messaging and materials (pitch decks, RFPs etc)
- Represent private credit internally and with clients and prospects
- Respond to technical client and sales queries
- Help drive the commercialisation and growth of private credit (e.g. coordinating activity on fund launches and campaigns, input to product strategy)
The role will be part of the Fixed Income specialist team and connect with other Alternatives specialists to share best practice.
Key stakeholders are predominantly based in London and Edinburgh, and the role can be sited in either of these locations.
Profile / Your qualification / Your personality
Skills and Experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- A keen interest in private credit investing
- A passion for delivering for clients and growth
- Able to work independently and self-start, but also with others – strong stakeholder management skills and ability to work with senior individuals in a complex global organisation
- Organisation and prioritisation – of own time and supporting business prioritisation and focus
- Problem-solving - a forward-looking approach and commitment to continuous improvement and innovation
- Desirable – private credit market knowledge and competitor insight. Experience of working with a variety of clients both in terms of type but also geographical location
- Desirable – additional European language skills
