Pictet Asset Management is seeking to recruit a Client Portfolio Manager in the Equity Total Return team in London on a permanent basis.

The Equity Total Return franchise is part of Pictet’s USD 46bn alternative investment capabilities. Established over 20 years ago, it serves global clients and provides solutions across multi-strategy, equity long/short, market neutral and event-driven strategies, drawing on investment teams across six investment locations. We are seeking to recruit a Client Portfolio Manager with Hedge Fund expertise.

The Client Portfolio Manager (CPM) serves as the key liaison between our client-facing teams and the investment teams within the Equity Total Return department. With extensive knowledge of the portfolio management teams' investment philosophy and process, the CPM’s core responsibilities are to conduct client meetings, provide portfolio updates, all while maintaining a comprehensive understanding of investment strategies and market trends. The CPM also provide support to grow and retain business by working with distribution teams and representing investment strategies to clients. This role is multi-faceted, dynamic, and challenging, requiring well-honed skills in communication, presentation, relationship building, business acumen, and analytical thinking.

Tasks

  • Interact with the various portfolio management teams to gain insights into portfolio positioning, performance attribution, portfolio activity, risk characteristics and team views, and effectively communicate this information to distribution teams and clients.
  • Support business development efforts by representing the investment team in client meetings, roadshows and capital introduction events.
  • Provide clients and prospects with regular updates on the investment performance of the funds you oversee.
  • Assist in retaining current clients through meetings and conference calls.
  • Contribute to monthly investment commentaries.
  • Build strong relationships with distribution teams to support their initiatives.
  • Help validate client reporting documents and contribute to the creation and updating of marketing materials and ad-hoc presentations such as articles.
  • Conduct market intelligence research on the hedge fund industry and competitors.
  • Participate in the launch and marketing of new funds.

Profile / Your qualification / Your personality

  • University degree; CFA/CAIA or equivalent a plus.
  • At least 5 years of client-facing experience within a hedge fund environment.
  • Strong technical skills with in-depth knowledge of hedge fund strategies, including Long/Short Equity, Event Driven and Multi-Strategy, as well as financial markets.
  • Proficiency in both written and spoken English is essential. Additionally, fluency in one or more other languages, such as French, Italian, or Spanish, is a strong plus.
  • Excellent command of Excel, PowerPoint, Bloomberg; experience with Tableau and Python a plus.
  • Strong team player, adaptable, attention to detail and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong communication skills
  • Position based in London (preferred) or Geneva.
