Tasks
- Customer facing individual contributor role responsible for maintaining and extending existing customer relationships for Structured Finance. Within this role, the candidate will work autonomously with moderate supervision by the Head of Relationship Management for the EMEA Structured Finance Franchise.
- Proactively manage a high volume of Structured Finance Consumer Asset Securitisation and/or Corporate Asset securitisation transactions and will be responsible for a Covered Bond Issuer portfolio.
- Responsible for deepening existing relationships, developing new ones and capturing price and expanding coverage and increasing relevance with originators, collateral managers, arrangers and Covered Bond Issuers.
- Exceed allocated business targets: e.g. market coverage and average price increases.
- Collect market intelligence to share with broader Relationship Management and Pricing teams.
- Ensure we have an opportunity to bid for close to 100% of all Structured Finance Consumer Asset Securitisations asset class and/or Corporate Asset securitisations asset class and Covered Bond programmes.
- Responsible for putting together a structured outreach plan (prioritizing, defining outreach objectives), for Structured Finance Consumer Asset Securitisations asset class and/or Corporate Asset securitisations asset class and for the allocated Covered Bond portfolio.
- Maximize in person meetings (including preparation and conducting these) with high priority accounts and touch other accounts by phone or when the opportunity presents itself at third party conferences.
- Expect to spend minimum of 40% of the time in meetings or calls with customers.
- Contribute to the annual strategic planning process for Structured Finance Consumer Asset Securitisations asset class and/or Corporate Asset securitisations asset class and Covered Bonds, by assessing the vulnerability of relationships and by identifying new business opportunities for the supported market.
- Guide and mentor Sales Support team to facilitate professional development and efficiency.
- May be asked to provide account management support to other sub-regions or may be asked to cover other asset-classes (rotation within the team).
Profile / Your qualification / Your personality
Skills and Competencies:
- At least 5 years first-hand experience in Structured Finance/Securitisation.
- Relevant years of experience in the financial services industry or similar industry is required.
- Fluent in written and spoken English is essential.
- Language skills - In addition to English, at least one other language highly desirable (language commonly used in EMEA, such as French, German or Dutch).
Education:
- Minimum of Undergraduate / First Level degree (or equivalent) preferably in finance, accounting, business or economics.
Requirements:
- In-depth understanding of a range of fixed income instruments, key characteristics and dynamics of capital and credit markets globally and specific nuances of Structured Finance with first-hand experience in securitisation.
- Prior Rating Agency experience advantageous.
- Direct Sales and Marketing and negotiation experience with customers.
- Able to identify financial needs and understand the financial strategy of each customer.
- Strong communication skills. Effective at communicating with all levels at customer meetings in-person and by teleconference independently and with minimal oversight.
- Ability to conduct meetings with customers and prospective customers, and articulate and explain Moody’s value proposition, convincingly and unscripted.
- Ability to develop a detailed understanding of commercial contractual considerations and Moody’s pricing philosophy
- Strong negotiation and influencing skills to defend pricing, contracts, and renewal terms.
- Track record of autonomous independent working, as part of a senior relationship management/sales team.
- Where applicable, respond to tenders and requests for proposal including drafting responses and managing the process.
