Join our Secondaries Advisory team as an Associate Director. The team provide strategic advice to financial sponsors – primarily focused on the mid-market, offering a range of private capital raising and liquidity solutions, including single and multi-asset continuation vehicles among others.
This new team reinforces Investec’s commitment to serving the evolving needs of the European private equity sector. Earlier this year, Investec acquired a majority stake in leading European M&A and corporate finance advisory firm, Capitalmind.
Tasks
- Collaboratively work with colleagues to provide advice and build relationships with existing and potential clients concerning general corporate finance matters and a range of activities including the disposals, acquisitions, fundraisings and mergers.
- Generate business by developing and selling new business ideas to clients
- Act as an ambassador for Investec Bank plc in all internal and external engagements
- Act as a positive cultural flag bearer within the business (primarily with Associates, Analysts and Graduates within the PLC Advisory team) and encourage our teams operate to these standards
- Maintain and further develop relationships with existing clients
- Lead the preparation of client proposals / pitches for new business
- Assist in the leadership of the client team in the successful execution of transactions for clients and potential clients
- Communicate effectively with clients and colleagues
- Develop, market and sell new business ideas to clients or potential clients
- Identify, target and win new clients
- Maintain up to date sector knowledge and commercial awareness
- Understand and market Investec's broader capabilities
- Ensure communications with clients / intermediaries / business contacts are appropriately captured in the CRM.
Profile / Your qualification / Your personality
- Experience of the Secondary Advisory / GP market
- Detailed, up to date and practical working knowledge of all applicable rules and regulations in relation primarily to the FCA
- Acting with integrity at all times and embrace the philosophy of treating our clients and potential clients fairly
- Develop and build relevant market, sector and technical knowledge
- Strong understanding and preparation of financial analysis, valuation and modelling techniques
- Competent knowledge of powerpoint, excel and presentation solutions
- Effective internal / external client interaction (including with other advisors) for business generation and execution
- Ability to use the relevant IT applications
- Effective in the assessment, coaching and development of client team members
