Vontobel’s Quantitative Investment boutique manages about CHF 22 billion for institutional clients worldwide, offering both purely systematic and hybrid strategies that combine human and machine approaches. Within this boutique, the Global Solutions team designs and implements tailor-made portfolio solutions for complex client needs.
We are seeking a Quantitative Analyst with a strong macroeconomic background to join our team. In this hands-on role, you will develop and maintain analytical tools that enhance our understanding of market dynamics and improve portfolio decision-making. Your work will directly influence our ability to deliver innovative investment solutions and achieve superior outcomes for our institutional clients.
Aufgaben
- Develop and maintain quantitative tools and models to support tactical asset allocation (TAA), portfolio construction and macroeconomic analysis.
- Enhance our business cycle model to identify turning points and inform asset allocation decisions.
- Build portfolio modelling, optimization, and risk management tools to support active multi-asset portfolio management.
- Collaborate closely with portfolio managers to design new mandate concepts and investment solutions for institutional clients.
- Conduct data analysis for content creation and develop tools for performance monitoring and risk decomposition.
- Contribute to publications covering market views, quantitative signals, and investment strategies.
Profil / Ihre Qualifikation / Ihre Persönlichkeit:
- University degree in Mathematics, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- At least 5 years of experience in investment management, portfolio management, or related roles, with proven expertise in developing quantitative models for asset management, risk analysis, or macroeconomic forecasting.
- CFA certification preferred but not required.
- Strong Python programming skills, with a focus on computational efficiency, code quality and documentation.
- Solid understanding of financial markets, macroeconomic relationships, and investment instruments (e.g., equities, fixed income, currencies, derivatives).
- Proficiency in modern portfolio theory, risk models, and optimization algorithms, with the ability to implement or enhance asset allocation frameworks.
- Exposure to cloud computing environments or modern data infrastructure tools, and knowledge of machine-learning techniques for portfolio optimization is a plus.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate complex investment questions into quantitative frameworks and present findings effectively to various stakeholders.
- Ability to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment.
- Fluency in English required; German is highly useful, and additional languages are an advantage.
