As International Tax Director, you will be part of the firm’s tax department and report to the Head of Tax in the US. The tax department is responsible for Compliance, Risk Management, and Planning for all aspects of the organization. The International Tax Director will be responsible for the foregoing as it pertains to EMEA and APAC regions. The role will be supported by the broader tax team and outside advisors where necessary.
Aufgaben
- Work with external advisors and accounting firms to prepare and review corporate income tax returns for various Trading Funds and Management entities
- Work with external advisors and accounting firms to prepare and review indirect tax returns (VAT, GST) for various Trading Funds and Management entities
- Help develop and maintain global transfer pricing policies and related documentation
- Assist with local EMEA and APAC business initiatives
- Assist with local inquiries and audits
- Assist with setting global mobility policies and enforcement of such policies
- Assist global payroll team with understanding local rules regarding wage sourcing and fringe benefits treatment
- Stay apprised of EMEA, APAC, and international tax initiatives (DAC 6, BEPS Pillar 2) and evaluate their effects on the organization
- Proactively interact with key local BAM employees and external service providers to gather information, resolve tax-related problems, and effectively manage the tax profiles of the Funds and Management entities
- Help design and document internal controls, policies, and procedures for ensuring compliance with all tax laws & regulations
Profil / Ihre Qualifikation / Ihre Persönlichkeit:
- Our ideal candidate will be someone who is highly motivated and driven, with experience in the financial services industry with a concentration in tax accounting. The candidate must be someone who has:
- Knowledge of investment funds and management companies along with their associated tax matters
- Strong desire to work collaboratively across departments and learn new things
- Maintain a standard of professionalism in all dealings with internal staff and any external partners, clients and regulatory agencies
- Problem solving skills and ability to identify and implement appropriate solutions
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects concurrently to meet/exceed deadlines
- Consistent work ethic demonstrated through confidence and high effort
- Outstanding attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Ability to take ownership of projects in a dynamic environment
- Identify areas where new technology solutions (automation) can streamline the tax function
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Bachelor’s degree (CA, CPA, CTC, CTA or equivalent education or professional designation preferred)
- 5-7 years of experience in a tax related role within the financial services industry – hedge fund, private equity, proprietary trading, or fund administration
- Hedge fund experience strongly preferred
- Technology skills – ability to work efficiently in Excel with a strong understanding of Pivot Tables, Index/match, and SUMIF functions. Experience using Alteryx/Tableau is a plus.
