The Senior Discretionary Product Specialist’s role is to facilitate the growth of the business by acting as the technical expert communicating the strength of the investment proposition to private banking front office relationship managers and clients. The Discretionary Product Specialist will work closely with the HSBC AM investment team responsible for discretionary portfolio management to provide timely analysis of portfolio positioning and performance as well as communicating the strength of the offering.
The role is key to the delivery of discretionary solutions to our clients. It acts as a critical link between the investment team, front office teams and clients. The product specialist will ensure effective interactions across these stakeholders leading to AUM growth and increased investment revenues through annuity fees.

Aufgaben
- Act as the primary interface between HSBC AM portfolio managers and PBRS relationship managers and clients.
- Build effective working relationships with portfolio managers, attending investment meetings and developing an in-depth understanding of the investment process, portfolio positioning and investment decisions.
- Production of timely analysis of portfolio positioning and performance in response to client and front office enquiries.
- Development of high-quality marketing materials which demonstrate the added value of our Discretionary solutions and articulate our competitive advantages.
- Deliver quality before and after-market sales assistance to RMs, ICs, current clients and prospective clients through meetings and conference calls.
- Lead efforts to integrate Discretionary solutions into regular sales meetings and presentations within the Private Bank
- Write a Monthly Discretionary newsletter and provide ad hoc timely market commentaries on portfolio positioning/investment choices in the context of significant market events or price fluctuations.
- Lead, track and monitor product initiatives and on-going pitches.
- Build and maintain a solid overview of Discretionary solutions asset split by products, regions, RM/IC to be able to identify and address under penetrated area appropriately
Profil / Ihre Qualifikation / Ihre Persönlichkeit:
- Proven expertise on Discretionary solutions either through product specialist or portfolio manager roles.
- Strong knowledge of multi-asset portfolios and across all asset classes.
- Proactive, positive attitude and ability to multi-task especially under pressure to meet time sensitive deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships at all stakeholders
- Strong Microsoft Office skills: excel, visual basic, PowerPoint; Knowledge of Aladdin, Avaloq and Qlik sense would be an asset.
- High level of academic education, possibly combining solid marketing skills with Financial/Economics background. Solid knowledge on Equity is a plus.
- Fluent in English and French or German. Arabic would be an asset.
- CFA, CAIA or CIIA or equivalent would be an asset
