The Physical Crude Trading team in Geneva plays a pivotal role in Macquarie’s global oil business. The team is engaged across international physical and financial crude markets, trading a diverse range of crude oil grades and contracts. Aufgaben
As a Crude Oil Trader, you will be part of a dynamic trading team, proactively identifying and capitalising on opportunities to grow the business. You will execute and manage physical crude oil trades, overseeing transactions from origination through to delivery. Building and maintaining relationships with producers, refiners, shipping partners, and other market participants is a key aspect of this role. You will analyse market trends, price movements, and supply and demand fundamentals across Europe, the Middle East, and West Africa, contributing to the team’s ongoing success.
Profil / Ihre Qualifikation / Ihre Persönlichkeit:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience trading crude oil, with a proven track record of positive profit and loss
 - In-depth understanding of physical and financial crude oil markets in Europe, the Middle East, and West Africa
 - Strong entrepreneurial drive with the ability to independently source and close new deals
 - Demonstrated success in high-pressure trading environments and collaborative team settings
 - Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills, with an established network in the crude oil trading community
 - Fluent in English; proficiency in additional languages, such as French, is advantageous
 - Technically skilled in Excel and market platforms such as Bloomberg and Reuters
 - Programming skills are desirable
 - Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with a wide range of market participants
