Job Overview
We are seeking a seasoned Quality Assurance (QA) and Audit Lead to head the Controls & Oversight team within our EU Anti-Financial Crime (AFC) department. In this role, you will oversee quality assurance reviews, monitor outsourced AFC activities, engage in vendor governance, and ensure that core AFC controls operate effectively, consistently, and in line with regulatory expectations.
Aufgaben
- Lead a team of AFC analysts in performing structured QA reviews across internal and outsourced AFC processes, including case sampling, procedural validation, and thematic testing.
- Design and implement second-line controls to evaluate the effectiveness of transaction monitoring, name screening, Customer Due Diligence (CDD), Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD), Ongoing Due Diligence (ODD), and Suspicious Activity Reporting (SAR) workflows.
- Oversee AFC vendor governance through initial due diligence, ongoing performance monitoring, SLA tracking, and issue escalation.
- Maintain and enhance the QA framework, including review templates, scoring rubrics, and documentation protocols.
- Identify quality gaps and provide structured feedback or training to internal and external stakeholders to drive continuous improvement.
- Consolidate QA findings into periodic reports and dashboards for Anti-Money Laundering Officer (AMLO), senior management and regulatory reporting.
- Support audit and regulatory inspections by ensuring documentation is complete, compliant, and audit-ready.
- Work closely with AMLO to improve control performance, reduce false positives, or increase automation.
Profil / Ihre Qualifikation / Ihre Persönlichkeit:
- University degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience in AFC/AML, Compliance Quality Assurance, internal audit, or third-party risk management—ideally with exposure to crypto, fintech, or financial services.
- Based in Vienna or willing to relocate.
- Strong knowledge of regulatory framework in Austria, crypto-specific typologies, travel rule regulation, sanctions frameworks, and customer due diligence procedures.
- Has hands-on experience with QA programs, GRC systems, audit preparation, and vendor oversight methodologies (e.g., onboarding, SLA tracking, performance reviews).
- Displays excellent analytical and documentation skills, with a proven ability to identify control weaknesses, root causes, and drive actionable improvements.
- Is fluent in English, both written and spoken; German proficiency is a strong asset.
- Possesses excellent cross-functional communication and stakeholder management skills, especially in interactions with internal teams, external vendors, and regulators.
- Is confident leading structured projects under pressure and managing competing priorities within tight timelines.
