Aufgaben

You will be part of the recently created Asset Management function within Propel and will report to the Head of Asset Management. This role requires working closely with key stakeholders (e.g. Credit, Sales, Operations, Finance, Legal & Compliance) across the business to ensure that there are robust asset management policies and processes in place to support business activities in key markets and manage associated risks effectively across the asset lifecycle.

  • Responsibility for the asset related risks within the portfolio of assets owned and managed by Propel in support of the leasing and hire purchase business.
  • Support the underwriting process for new business flows by delivering appropriate high-quality insight and expertise on asset valuations, secondary market liquidity and volatility, remarketing scenarios and exit strategies where required on a broad range of equipment types. Maintain and regularly review (under appropriate governance) asset valuation guidance documents (e.g. standard depreciation profiles relevant to the main asset types which the business funds) and instruct and interpret external valuation work where required.
  • Maintain and manage a panel of third-party service providers covering areas such as plant & machinery valuation, asset audit and inspection. Establish and maintain other sources of market information to inform the underwriting and in-life management of the portfolio.
  • Maintain and manage an appropriate panel of Sub-Hire Audit firms and ensure ongoing management and review of audit schedules and managing the outcome of reviews including taking remediation action as appropriate.
  • Maintain and manage an appropriate panel of agents to be utilised in asset recovery and sale situations working in conjunction with the Collections and Business Support functions. Provide asset valuations, asset recovery options and asset disposal advice as required in line with agreed recovery approaches.

Profil / Ihre Qualifikation / Ihre Persönlichkeit:

  • Significant Asset Finance experience in a similar role
  • Have operated across the asset life cycle from origination through to portfolio management and remarketing.
  • Strong knowledge of asset finance, specific asset type expertise and familiar with the sector infrastructure including advisors / suppliers.
  • Demonstrable experience of a wide range of sectors: Transportation / Construction / Agriculture / Manufacturing
  • Understanding of Governance, Risk Management and Compliance within an Asset Management Framework.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience in presenting information to diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Maintains solid relationships with external professional bodies, suppliers and clients.
