- A Natural Capital Fund, investing in sustainable agriculture, forestry and environmental assets in developed economies, seeking to optimise landscapes for production and ecosystem services;
- A Nature Based Carbon Fund, offering investors access to global nature-based carbon projects at scale in developing economies that generate high integrity carbon credits.

We are continuing to fundraise for these strategies while deploying funds into projects around the world.
We will be developing second vintages and launching new investment strategies that continue to help our investors and stakeholders meet their net zero commitments while helping protect the planet from land degradation, biodiversity loss and climate change.
The opportunity
We are currently looking for an Asset Manager to oversee the management of NBCS’s portfolio assets. The Asset Manager will report directly to Senior Asset Manager and work in parallel with the investment team as well as CAM’s core functions and with the fund portfolio/project partners. This role will specifically focus on execution and oversight of assets in the NBCS portfolio specifically improving the performance of project partners and providing both technical and operational guidance to ensure the Funds mandates are achieved.
Aufgaben
- Manage on-ground projects partners and, as applicable, fulfil all responsibilities under Contract Implementation and Management, Stakeholder Engagement and Relationship Management, and Reporting and Documentation.
- Supporting completion of asset annual strategic plans, budgets, valuations and completion of project milestones.
- Supporting asset management staff in procurement and supervision of third-party providers including auditors, consultants and valuers.
- Lead the DD of the review and selection to ensure suitable project partners are selected.
- Collaborate with NBCS Investment Team through the investment process and provide input on the ability of asset management team to execute the investment strategy.
- Oversee NBCS’s asset portfolio delivery and performance in alignment with CAM’s Asset Management Framework.
- Responsible for supporting and supervising the activities and performance of the NBCS assets
- Responsible for overseeing review, standardization, implementation and iterative improvement of operational processes and systems for NBCS assets including for: knowledge sharing, software/technology, asset environmental, social and governance (ESGI) programs including impact targets and monitoring, strategic planning, timber/non timber forest products and carbon determination, volume and sales and marketing, project management, services procurement, valuation standards, asset communications, reporting (financial and non-financial) and industry/stakeholder engagement/advocacy.
- Liaise with CAM project counterparties to ensure adequate implementation of project activities in accordance with the relevant project contracts and international standards including streamlined reporting of these activities.
- Responsible for leading major fund level projects including international (voluntary) carbon market development and sales, procurement, stakeholder engagement and ESG initiatives.
Contract Implementation And Management
- Management of existing carbon credit contracts and ancillary agreements, ensuring adherence to project timelines, milestones, economics and contractual and regulatory obligations.
- Collaborate with NBCS team members and local project teams to facilitate effective communication and coordination among stakeholders involved in project implementation monitoring and management.
- Monitor ongoing project activities to identify emerging risks, deliver those to the NBCS team, then take agreed proactive measures to mitigate them.
Stakeholder Engagement And Relationship Management
- Enhance and maintain NBCS’s strong relationships in compliance with all applicable laws with local project teams, project developers, and relevant stakeholders to ensure smooth project implementation, monitoring and management.
- Collaborate with NBCS team members, project partners and local teams to facilitate effective communication, address challenges, and maintain a positive working relationship with project partners, local communities, government authorities and other relevant stakeholders.
- Ability to engage in negotiations project managers (both funds owned and third-party) including performance management and reporting.
Fund Governance
- Responsible for coordinating NBCS fund governance activities with the governance team.
- Responsible for fulfilling designated fund operating company Directorships in fund owned assets and operating companies.
- Ensure portfolio assets and relevant counterparties are in compliance with applicable host country laws, international Anti-Bribery & Corruption Laws, and relevant ESG and Human rights standards.
- Oversee each portfolio asset’s risk register, identify mitigation plans for key risks in collaboration with project counterparties as appropriate, and report any key risks to the relevant CAM committees.
- Cross-collaborate with CAM ESG-I and Risk & Compliance teams to ensure adequate implementation of Action Plan items under each project’s contract.
Reporting And Documentation
- Prepare regular reports on project progress, ESG performance, and compliance status for NBCS and its stakeholders, investors, and standards bodies.
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation of project-related activities, including contractual agreements, compliance records, and ESG data.
- Supporting operations teams to complete investor fund reports in collaboration with internal investor services and operations teams.
Profil / Ihre Qualifikation / Ihre Persönlichkeit:
- Strong proven professional operational experience in project management, forestry and/or agriculture and carbon project development (5-10 years of relevant experience)
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in direct operational management or project partner experience in emerging markets.
- Experience in team leadership within a functional matrix structure.
- Experience in funds management in an institutional investment context.
Experience And Strengths
- Prior experience in successfully executing forestry and/or agriculture and carbon project projects
- Understanding of funds management, forestry/agriculture and carbon commercial operations.
- Strong commercial skills and experience including negotiation.
- Good Microsoft Office skills including Outlook, Word, Excel.
- Excellent time management and organisational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and stakeholder liaison skills.
